Bedouin Baby

Doesn't this kind of look like that beautiful National Geographic photo of the veiled woman with the haunting blue eyes? I mean, not to brag about my husband's photo talent or my baby's eyes, but I just have to call 'em like I see 'em.
The Bug is wearing a hat that his Aunt Jen knitted for me.

I'm finally managing to put some holiday photos up. . . Here's a picture of Benjamin Chalkley on Christmas day with his Grandma and Grandpa Beeson.

Party Tricks: Bottle-holding

I know it doesn't look like much -- but this is the first time the Bug held his own bottle to feed himself. He still can't quite pull off holding those awfully heavy 8-ounce bottles, but the 4-ouncers he has down!
(He's sitting on his Aunt Jen's lap. . . )

Ambah

As many of you know, Ben's grandmother Amber -- or "Ambah" as she wanted him to call her -- died on January 9. She described 2007 as one of the best years she'd ever had, so I am very thankful that she got to meet Ben, even though I wish wish wish she could have had more time with him.

Here are photos of Amber with Ben in the hospital in August, and at Steve's and my wedding in May.

She was beautiful, graceful, and elegant. May her memory be a blessing.
